The road where the crash happened is actually really nice for riding because of its wide shoulder.
There's lots of traffic but also plenty of room. We do have many other roads with little to no shoulder
and those aren't much fun, especially considering how many people are distracted behind the wheel
with apparently more important things to do than pay attention to their driving. Texting and such
behind the wheel is becoming a real problem. I see it all the time. The woman driving the Hummer (just behind the car that was hit) appeared to drive off but she only
went to go park her vehicle out of the way. She came back and made a statement to police as to what
she saw. The truck ran a red light and was at fault. The traffic turning left in front of the truck was doing so on a
