How come I have this idea if Romney had been elected....

First, I think in the long term, this country is in more danger than ever before from our unfettered, predatory capitalistic system and the change in our familial culture (and not in a good way). With wages for every day Americans refusing to inch up and more and more wealth falling into the hands of the few, our society is being damaged in untold ways. From the drive of how Americans love to focus on things like being able to obtain materialistic items like the newest IPhone or IPad to that of ignoring how one income used to be able to raise a family in comfort, things that once mattered in this country no longer do. And this isn't a praise for a need of conservatism, but how unchecked capitalism is like a worm in an apple. Americans have learned to worship a godless item - wealth - without seeing the harm it does do while missing those things that are important.But back to my subject line - I have this idea that if Romney had been elected, the general mood of the country and the powers that be would be that the turnaround after Bush has been a resounding success. Gasoline is down and is believed to be going even lower. Look at the stock market. Jesus. If this were under a Republican, I imagine each day the news media would we touting all these records being set by stocks, bonds and money market funds. But what are we getting? Doom and gloom everyday. And does anyone seem to be asking "why"? The DOW is closing in on 18,000! The S&P just sent a new record! And the monied interests are claiming a climate of disaster. WHY? Well, my belief is, those that own the wealth know their pie will get even bigger if the only party putting up a fight is weakened even more. Think of it...1 percent of the population of this planet possess almost half of the global wealth of the entire world!! ONE PERCENT. These people make all the rules. These people tell the rest of the world what to do. They persuade people what they think it is they need and want to buy. It's all about buy, buy, buy. And for some reason, these people, when profits are going up and up, are persuading the American people of doom and gloom. Yes, it is doom and gloom for every day people, but not with the same meaning as these cannibalistic predators. We, as people, are so fucking doomed and Citizen's United is proof off that - corporations as PEOPLE, with the same rights as PEOPLE. Oh, wait...this is Nov 1, Halloween is supposed to be over.....
