I like your list Peter, and on any given day several of these would wind up on my playlist.

I have a bit of trouble trying to sit down and making a list of favorites. My musical tastes have changed dramatically over the years, sometimes returning to old ground and sometimes going places I wouldn't imagine (e.g. I really really like Mumford & Sons and this new "folk" trend).

So having said that, some of my favorite music this week follows that path, and here's a set of artists moreso than songs

Rhiannon Giddens--was part of Carolina Chocolate drops, and then met T- Bone Burnett. Her star is ascending now

The New Basement Tapes--Tons of folks putting music to Dylan lyrics that he never recorded. Features Elvis Costello, Marcus Mumford, the above- mentioned Ms. Giddens, and more.

Also check out the album "Another Day Another Time" which features many of the same folks (again under the guidance of T-Bone) doing songs from and inspired by the film "Inside Llewyn Davis."

Jason Isbell--Please, please, please listen to his album "Southeastern" Haunting, painful, melancholy, and yet such a joy to listen to. I like it much better than his new album that came out last week.

All this "new folk" has prompted me to go back and listen to early Dylan and his contemporaries, which then takes me to the 60's blues revival, which takes me back to country blues, and then Buddy Guy's new record dropped today. I'm never bored, always searching for where things came from and how it touches what's left of my jaded soul.
