Dear Andrea, The “Senate Leadership Fund” is attacking me. Let me tell you who that really is: The Koch Brothers. Right-wing dreck-mongers who own the Republican Party. At first glance, it might seems like a group called the “Senate Leadership Fund” could possibly be doing something constructive. Lord knows that the Senate needs better leadership. Especially for Team Blue, since our dearly departing leader clearly is suffering from dementia pugilistica, a/k/a “Punch-Drunk Syndrome.” Mais non, as the French would say. Wrong – the Senate Leadership Fund is up to no good at all. It’s a front group funded by the Koch Brothers. Not surprisingly, a Koch by any other name smells just as yucky. Listen to what these Koch-atoos at the Senate Leadership Fund had to say about me on Friday: “We want Alan Grayson to lose. His Elizabeth Warren/Bernie Sanders agenda of more government may appeal to uncompromising liberals, but it’s the wrong direction for our country." – Senate Leadership Fund President and CEO Steven Law If you think that my “Elizabeth Warren/Bernie Sanders agenda” is the RIGHT direction for our country, chip in $10 to our campaign now >> Why does this matter, you ask? Well, history tells us that this could prove to be a YUUUUUUGE problem for us. It all started when the head of the National Republican Congressional Committee said that I was the Republicans’ #1 target for 2010. Then Glenn Beck said that he didn’t care what happened in any other 2010 race, as long as I lost. Then Sarah Palin came to Central Florida, more than once, to campaign against me. Then our district became a laboratory to test all of the dirty tricks that right-wing special interests could get away with after the oxymoronic “Citizens United” Supreme Court decision. They ran $5½ million in attack ads against me — more “independent expenditures” than in any other House race, anywhere in the country, at any time ever, until then. $4 million of that was from the Brothers Koch themselves. My young children, along with everyone else in Orlando with a TV set, saw the Koch Brothers’ vicious attack ads against me — an average of 70 times. Those Koch-roaches came at me with every Koch-eyed lie they could think up. Help us fight back against the Koch Brothers’ new attacks against me by chipping in $10 now >> It’s hard to win a Koch-fight when you raise your campaign funds $20 at a time. And so, on that fateful November night in the year 2010, I lost my job as a Congressman. If I were Captain Kirk in “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan,” you would have heard me shout out “Koooooooooooooooch!” But I did not go gentle into the awful night. Two years later, I rose like the proverbial “phoenix from the ashes,” in what the House Historian informed us was the biggest comeback in Congressional history — a 43- point swing in just two years. And I didn’t do it by selling out to the Koch Brothers, or any other special interest. I did it by continuing to raise my campaign funds $20 at a time, from thousands of supporters like you. In fact, we raised more campaign money from more people that year than any other Democrat elected to the House. (And then I exposed how much the Koch Brothers stood to gain from the Keystone Pipeline, and helped to kill that sucker.) I’m going to win this Senate election the same way. Exactly the same way. Holding hands with you. Help us show the Koch Brothers that they can’t buy this Senate seat by chipping in $10, right here and right now >> Courage, Alan Grayson
