Having seen what Hugo Chavez did in Venezuela, I see more and more parallels between that
and what Donald Trump whips up here. That kind of easy populism (there's a simple, common-
sense solution to nearly every problem!) suckers in the working class every time. There may
even be a couple of areas where Trump is right. But the real danger of him would be the
tendency to personalize every decision, every action. That kind of macro-level crony politics
coupled with a national mandate to essentially personally take over any and all institutions that
had a whiff of failure is extraordinarily dangerous.
