"Sounds like another fanciful Reg theory."
This is one I've heard but don't give much credence to. Mostly, first
you
could not predict in advance that Trump would win the nomination of the
Republican party. In fact, just like Sanders, he was thought to be a long
shot at first.
So, that makes it unlikely.
Second, Trump seems unlikely to do such a big favor for the Clintons.
I
mean this guy would not do something this big, costly, and potentially
damaging to him with nothing on the table in return.
So, you really have to ask what he gets out of it and ego
gratification I
do not think would be enough.
Third, he really is now only one person away from being POTUS and the
person he has to beat is probably the most divisive politician in the
country and exactly the kind of politician many voters expressed
dissatisfaction with in the primaries.
So, should or would the Clintons trust Trump to intentionally tank
when
he is this close to being president? I know I wouldn't and the Clintons
are not known to be trusting people. They are quite Nixonian in their
paranoia.
Remember, Dan, I only buy into conspiracies you can prove...like the DNC
intentionally working to sink Sanders and smear him. That was fact and we
saw the memos and then resignations that followed that proved it.
But as I said during our long talk...the Democratic party is a
private
party and they are allowed to have a preferred candidate and while the
whole thing was not very "democratic" it also was not really a shocker
that they wanted to back their biggest fundraisers in the primary.
