Marc - did you even read the article? I had to re-read as I thought maybe you and I read different things. The author is totally carrying the water for those in the "red states". When he said - "if you live in the red, that fucking sucks" - he wasn't denigrating anyone. It was a highlight of the difference between the land mass and population densities and how that affects culture, etc. Nothing about putting anyone down.

And somewhere towards the end of the article he takes umbrage with the "white privilege" issue - and his conclusions are the opposite of what you posted in your reply.

Marc - usually I would pass on a reply - but I just don't think you read the same article as I did (and I just re-read it again). I'm replying because I would like to hear what you have to say about it.
