You're dad was right, Marc. "Have It Your Way", "You're In Good Hands With Allstate", "Think Different", and
the most recent example, "Make America Great Again" all attest to this. Whether one is selling burgers,
insurance, computers, or a political vision, it's best to keep it simple (and I'd of course include religion among
these various products "John 3:16"). Honestly, most folks require the Cliff Notes version. After all, who reads
those thick
direction manuals that accompany your appliances, swing sets, and children's toys?
I do however disagree with your opinion of David Wong's piece. I don't see the ambiguity, and I think it it
required the length it had in order to fully present the situation. The piece wasn't meant for the Parade
Magazine or Reader's Digest crowd.
