Icon Whither David & David's 2nd album?

Back in March, the David & David Facebook page teased:

"We're excited as f*&k, cause the brilliant and lovely Holly Palmer is coming in tomorrow to put the final, womanly touches on our first single since 12 years before David Baerwald's son was born, and Bill Bottrell is waiting to pick up the pieces. Rage feels better when shared with the righteous."

In this message board, there were rumblings of a Kickstarter campaign and even a campaign video leaked to the Internet...David & David said that Bill Bottrell had been hired to mix the single.

Then, in June, drummer Kenny Aronoff tweeted that he was recording with David Baerwald in his studio.

Since then, radio silence.

So are we ever going to hear the long-awaited second David & David album?

This isn't the first time that the duo has attempted to put together a follow-up album to "Boomtown." I believe they recorded together in the early 1990s. As Toni Childs put it to me earlier this year, "It will be David and David's third album. There was a second one... I know because I sang on it." Then there were further recordings about a decade ago.

(Thanks, Dan, for posting songs from the earlier aborted attempts at a follow-up David and David album on this board back in September.)

So does anyone on the board have any idea what is going on? Will we ever get another David & David record?

David, of course, appeared on RT television this summer with a band and played two new songs + "If Wishes Were Horse," which had previously been released on the "13 Ways to Live" compilation album. Does that mean there will now be another David Baerwald solo album rather than a D&D one?

For us fans it's been a long drought and I'm dying of thirst...
