So, in the face of any threat to the safety of citizens of the United States...or really anybody in the United States citizen or not...a threat to the safety of the general public in this country when would an acceptable answer to addressing that threat be PRAY?

Seriously...when is it an acceptable response of people in the government, people responsible for creating legislation and policy that protects people in the United States, when the hell is an acceptable response to tell people to PRAY?

We know what the threat is. We know how to prevent it. We know exactly who is responsible and why. So, what kind of moron accepts PRAY as a response?

I DO NOT accept this, it is idiotic to the extent that anybody that says that should probably be hospitalized for their own safety. If your response is PRAY, then you are a danger to yourself and others.

If you have managed to reach adulthood...if you have managed to get elected to government...if you have managed to get up shower, shave, and put on a clean shirt in the morning then you goddamn well know that when problems arise the answer to dealing with them is not PRAY.

YOU DO SOMETHING.

If after 9/11/01 the response of our government was PRAY...who would have accepted that?

Almost 3000 people, inclusive of the terrorists, died on 9/11 and about 6000 were injured...and the response of our government was rapid and extreme.

Almost 34,000 people died due to gun violence in the US in 2013 and another 75,000 were injured. The numbers of gun deaths and injuries dwarf what happened on 9/11 year after year. It is simple math. And the response of a large portion of our truly outrageously idiotic and corrupt government is PRAY.

How would you like it if your child was injured and lying on the ground and you called 911 for help and their response was PRAY?

Really, who would find that acceptable?

Yet, every damn time, which is actually every damn day, there is a shooting in this country the response of these idiots is PRAY.

"Nothing can be done, PRAY."

"Don't talk about doing something. PRAY."

"Don't politicize this tragedy. PRAY."

That last one translates to the same thing as the sentence above it.

You want some more perspective...

The total number of military personnel killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom was 4424...during all the years of the "conflict" there. That's not one year...that's all of the years combined. There were 31,952 injured or wounded in Iraq in that period of time.

Even in a down year for gun violence like 2015 in the United States there were 13,286 people killed and 26,819 people injured. These numbers do not include suicide attempts or successes by the way. In a down year we still kill three times the number of people with gun violence and wound basically the same amount as a 7 year period for our soldiers in a war zone.

You think we don't have a problem? According to the numbers we live in a permanent war zone that is at least 3 to 10 times more deadly than our last actual war was for US troops.

The solution they want to offer you...PRAY.

What sort of moron would accept that answer? What sort of filthy blasphemous human refuse would offer that as an answer?

The kind that gets rich off of mass shootings, of course.
