Ed Hamell and I have crossed paths quite a few times in the past couple of years. In addition to being a funny and intelligent iconoclast, he's a very sweet guy.

Since I was a regular poster here on DBIS I've been divorced, fallen in love and remarried. I commissioned a painting from Ed to give to my wife as a wedding present. It's hanging on the wall above me as I write this.

The day after we got married we hosted Ed at a house concert in our home and squeezed about thirty friends in for a funny, politically astute show that included lots of dirty jokes and bad words. It was a great wedding present!

Hamell has a FB page and a web site. If I knew how to post a couple of his paintings here I would so you could see them. You can probably see some of them if you're on FB or if you go to his site. He tours the States constantly and is always looking for a house concert. If you can grab him when he comes thru your town, do!
