This article has been one of the best articles I've read on the US's opioid addiction. Sullivan details the history of the insatiable appetite and writes an article that is detailed but accessible to all readers. Sadly, I do not think America and the policymakers in this country are brave and willing enough to try methods to lessen the impact of this issue. For one thing, our policymakers are too deeply enshrined in morality politics when it comes to abused substances to even consider trying things other countries have found success in. And I did not realize it before but 52,000 Americans die a year from this shit. Not simply overdose, DIE....
