This would not surprise me at all. He is a bizarre guy and he has always
loved to leak stuff to the press so I would certainly not be surprised if
Trump leaks all kinds of stuff or asks his people to do it. He'll leak
something and then go nuts telling people how disgraceful it is that
somebody is leaking things...his way of manipulating the news cycle.
I have little doubt when there are leaks that he is going to fire
somebody
he puts those leaks out and then to draw more attention to them he
complains that "I never said that it's fake news!"
This is the kind of chaos he enjoys creating and he thinks works.
