The last few days I have been filled with such despair over the direction of the US. Being 53 yrs old and knowing for those 53 yrs, plus more than that one political party used the USSR/Russia as a bludgeon anyway it could and to now see a complete turnaround shows to me how the Mueller investigation will turn out. What I think he will do is complete a damning report, issue it to Congress and it will go nowhere. Absolutely nowhere. There will be "oh's" and "ah's" but the Republican Congress will do nothing as will the Democrats. I think we saw this before with the Iraq War and how it came about and what came after. Nothing. We lost all those dead and wounded Americans on a fictionally created war and for what? And the American people could not care less. And I just don't get it. Wealth in America is being sucked into the hands of the very few. Workers and every day Americans are blind to so much and ignorant of so much but are happy to get their hands on the newest I Phone. Unions are being dismantled and healthcare is going towards only those that can afford it. And where is the attention of the American people? Just look...their faces are planted to their screens. Hell, I remember back in the late, mid 80's when I was finishing my bachelor's degree and started reading more and more. As my thoughts started turning more to the left, I would look through In These Times and The Nation in the college library because I was afraid to get a subscription out of fear of getting put on some political subversive list because of course, back then, the Left in America was the same as the USSR. But now, too many do not care......
