Points taken, BigAl! I think the part of me that roots for the underdog is responsible for my cheering a bit more
for Weddings Parties Anything, and their leader, Mick Thomas.I've probably seen Paul Kelly a dozen times or more here in different incarnations and he's always wonderful.
He usually draws a few hundred devoted followers to his Boston shows. I've endlessly sung his praises for
over 30 years! All Dylan and Springsteen fans should own his catalog! Hell, all music lovers should intimately
know: Careless, To Her Door, Deeper Water, From St. Kilda To Kings Cross, etc. etc. BUY Paul Kelly's "Songs
From The South Volumes 1 and 2 NOW!WPA was far less visible here. No one, and I mean almost no one knows who they were, and Mick Thomas
doesn't register either, though WPA gained a bit of traction in Canada. Saw Mick once in Manhattan and it
was astonishingly sad to see that he drew about 10 paying customers (and one seemingly rabid Australian
cattle dog who kept charging at him on the smallest of stages). He must have been the pub's owner. So
weird, and a shame his stuff isn't really heard outside of Oz, and I wonder how many of your fellow citizens
know him. Of course, one-time WPA song of the year, Father's Day, gets some recognition I suppose. I usually love WPA for their hard-charging, thoroughly raucous and tuneful rockers, but their softer songs can
also hit you where you live, as witnessed by...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jx3c5yk744Peter T.
