Many of the people I've seen or read interviewed in the media has expressed longing for simpler times (the 50'ies is often referenced) where politics were less confusing etc. Caveat: Granted I sit here in Denmark, Europe and some of this information might not be representative, but I like to think that I have a fairly good grasp of politics in the US and every year for the past 15 or so years I have (for fun) passed the entrance exam for the danish journalism school, which they publicize in the newspapers afterwards over here :-)
