I remember from years ago, Ross, your thoughts on the downward spiral in Venezuela. And given that it now may well approach the horrors of North Korea, you may have underestimated the carnage! Are you in touch with anyone from those days? I would assume you would have known the better educated folks. Have they fled the country?

With respect to our possible road to fascism, I think we need a plan to educate America as to what it looked like in the past and how its present incarnation looks around the world. We need a whole lot of national conversations.  We need thoughtful people who are credible to both sides (and I'm not sure if anyone fits the bill at the moment) to speak out.  All the while, I recognize that a good third of America probably pines for a bit, or a lot, of homegrown fascism!
