Marc, I have a few thoughts. You say we're leftists? I'm not sure how you define that label. Some might say it's people with left of center views, and I'd say we surely are that. But leftist can mean anti-capitalist, even borderline socialist/Marxist. I see no evidence of that. I haven't heard calls here to defund the police, abolish or nationalize private industry, or maintain an open borders immigration policy!  Honestly, what do you mean by leftist? Do leftists typically encourage calling our generals "losers, dopes and babies". Do leftists applaud Trump when he casually tweeted that transgender troops aren't allowed to serve in the military? Do leftists applaud the pardoning of war criminals within our military and among contractors like Blackwater? Are we leftists because we criticized the inane love letter exchange with Kim Jong-un that bought North Korea time and allowed them to build their nuclear arsenal? Are we leftists because we were concerned that Trump would turn a blind eye to a million Uighurs if it meant he could sell more soybeans to China?  Are we leftists because we are shocked that Trump wouldn't read the goddamn PDB like a security-minded commander in chief is required to!  At times, I've railed here against the far-left, censorious, ultra-woke types and have said that liberals have to police our own. Last summer, I had a falling out with a friend of nearly 60 years because I pushed back on his defense of looting, his calls to abolish the police, and his unwillingness to address the harm caused by out-of-wedlock birth. He even freaked when I used the term "black on black crime". Now he and his wife are leftists!   Are we leftists because we're cannot abide Trump's unprecedented mountain of lies, incompetence, calls to violence, refusal to accept election results,  coddling of dictators and disdain for our long-time allies? Are we leftists because we believe climate change is an existential threat that we have to deal with? Are we leftists because we believe women should be able to make their own healthcare and reproductive decisions? Are we leftists because we believe all Americans should have access to quality and affordable healthcare?  Please provide evidence that we're leftists, Marc. Peter T.
