I hated to see the tree have to be taken down. Without sounding like Bobby Goldsboro, it was the diameter of my thumb when I planted it in '92. We've got the Emerald Ash Borer here now so all of our ash trees need to be treated (we have 2 remaining) every other year to protect against the beetle. I called the trimmers in to trim it and they told me not to waste my money. I had no idea it was dying.
