The large Great Pyrenees in the video above regularly gives chase to me. I took a screenshot of her from one of my videos and had the photo enlarged to give to the dog's owners. They were so surprised but not as surprised as I was to learn that Sophia is actually very shy. When I stopped by their home (about 15 miles / 24 km) south of where I live to give them the photo, she would have nothing to do with me. Her owner tried to coax her out to come and see me but she couldn't be persuaded. There are several dogs along the various routes I ride and I've gotten to know some of them. I'm careful to not approach the area if they're out and if there's any vehicle traffic around that could cause them to be run over. For every pup I'm familiar with, there are many others that I'm not. It's always an adrenalin rush to try and stay out in front of them.
