Well, here's the thing - cannabis is legal in my state and after retirement, I thought maybe someday I might give an edible a try.
So, a couple of weeks ago, after doing a bit of research, I ventured into one of the dispensaries and made a purchase of two types of chocolate edibles.
Talk about a process. Armed guards, no browsing, and quite a well-regulated purchasing experience. One other shocker was how much this state taxes this stuff. FOUR different taxes (local, state, adult-use, and cannabis tax, all of which total about 30 percent).
So after purchasing two types, I headed home and while hiding in the garage, took half of one square of the four squared chocolate bar and then hid the remaining chocolate in a hiking shoe high up on a shelf (the wife would really get pissed if she know I did this).
Talk about a major, major disappointment - the buzz I got was a horrible, lethargic, dizzying, and nauseous high. It was like I gobbled down several sleeping pills and was spun around like I had my head down on a baseball bat and was told then run a straight line.
I thought maybe I needed to take a full square, so on the next try, I did that and added just a bit more. Not only was it the same sort of horrible buzz, but through the next day, I was filled with a slight feeling of motion sickness.
One thing on the packaging that was accurate was how it did take like 2 hrs to hit and how it may take up to four hours until the full impact was felt and when that happened, all I wanted was it all to be over.
I really was wanting this sort of mellow, relaxed buzz where music would sound so interesting, but instead, ugh........
Now, I'm stuck with this chocolate..........
