Well, one thing I learned watching the officers testify went to the heart of a central question and I thought was very enlightening as to what happened and why the police were not ready. I don't think it really had to do with them not expecting white people to riot and attack the building but it had to do with all of their experiences with past protests at the capitol. 

These officers had seen countless protests and at none of them did the protesters attack the building or the police. So, they expected just another day of protesters outside the building. I don't think there was a heightened sense of danger because they just had not had to face anything like this before. I think Trump and some Republicans want to give "white people" a pass after the fact but l think most people are not giving them a pass after witnessing what happened...which was quite honestly a horror show. 

To me the major issue here is there is no more Republican party and those that call themselves Republicans in Washington are betraying the country and every citizen in it by denying what happened on January 6 and who instigated the whole thing...not just at the rally before the attack but for months leading up to it. The president of the United States and dozens of elected Republicans and hundreds of Republican party members nationwide pushed this attack as hard as they could, funded it, organized it, and then lit the fuse. There's no secret about who is responsible or who caused this. 

The issue is you have to prosecute these people and not just the terrorists that entered the capitol looking to hang the vice president and to lynch Nancy Pelosi...you have to prosecute the ones that inspired and pushed them to do this. If you don't do that, this can and likely will happen again. 

Make no mistake Trump and literally dozens of elected Republicans and hundreds of Republican organizers across the country want it to happen again. They want more violence, they want more death and destruction and it needs to be bigger than January 6 this time. 

Probably the most cowardly thing I have ever seen in politics are the elected Republicans that refuse to be named but keep begging people to put out statements off the record that behind closed doors they oppose Trump and completely blame him and some of their rotten colleagues for what happened. 

That is utter bullshit and you don't get a pass for that. You can't put your political future ahead of the country and expect to be let off the hook. We are a one party nation right now and this is honestly a giant problem. As usual the solution is that every Republican that opposes this terrorist movement needs to speak out...and this is not happening because Trump and Right Wing media are leading the terrorist movement.

We are in trouble because the Republicans are gearing up to steal elections in 2022 and 2024 and getting laws on the books in states to allow them to do so. If this does not get addressed Biden is just a stopgap and the desire to turn this country fascist is going to roar back.
