possibly there is too much to choose from now with so many more media platforms and sub cultures. everything has a smaller following and therefore a shorter shelf life. The amount of information people carry is more and the exposure to endless music much higher so it's all being watered down and increasingly insignificant.
there is some common ground for example the endless playlist of Christmas horseshit songs we are forced to endure endlessly. forever. we all know them. every fucking one of them. we could probably sing them backwards. sideways. upside fucking down. please Reg. make them stop. i cant bear it anymore. especially 'so here it is merry christmas' Noddy bloody Holder...
that is the stuff that will live on. regretfully.
