Kids like me because they recognize right off I am weird and childish. Kids like that.
I'll say things like "Let go find out where they are hiding all the cookies in this place." and sure enough 8 or 10 kids will wander off with me and rifle through somebody's cabinets and refrigerator.
I did get some complaints when I armed the neighborhood children with air horns. It was a day that will live in infamy.
