Dan maybe you can help me here.

Do any of you remember when I joined this board back in 2001 and my first post and why I might have posted it?

I'll give you a hint. I was in Manhattan the day of 9/11. But I am not from New York. I was barely a mile from that disaster. My cell didn't work so that I could call my parents back in Ohio to let them know I was ok. Probably everyone else in the city was trying to do the same thing. But I was safe.

But on the street (I was at 66th and Madison Ave.) The cops all had radios that did work to talk to each other but they started crying because they were hearing that their coworkers were dying in those towers and I started crying too. For them.

We all just asked why? why?

It was David's song Nobody that made me join here. I was actually a big Kevin Gilbert fan at the time (still am) and because of his collaboration with David well it spilled over I guess. Anyway...Because it was what helped me understand the NYPD and NYFD even better. And I will always  Love all of those men and women and what they did that day and I will never forget it.

In my mind they will never be "Nobody". But I think that was David's point when he wrote the song. They are all heroes but maybe sometimes don't know it.

But in my mind none of them are nobodies even if they sometimes feel that way because I am guilty of that too.
