The new issue of New York magazine has what I consider to be a positive article on what you believe is a waning "woke-cancellation" tsunami. I hope you are right, but I go back and forth day to day about whether this nonsense is going to stop.

It frustrates me how the right can turn the concept of the basic meaning of "wokeness" into a successful political cudgel when all it really means is to be cognizant of the experiences and lives of others, but on the other hand, the left's ability to take it to its extreme does the concept of being "woke" no good.
I guess many should have been able to predict this overreach years ago when a teacher used the word "niggardly" and all hell broke loose back in 2002.
Sadly, what I think the Democrats need is a Bill Clinton/Sister Souljah moment to jettison this corrosive practice.
Don't get me wrong - of course, there are times when people really do need to face repercussions for their speech and behavior, but it really needs to be under the appropriate circumstances.
