Ross, is correct. Despite my joking about people sleeping with guns under their pillows and mattresses they don't all do that. In fairness to the state, since I joke about it a lot, it really is a state that has gone purple and exists on the fringes of red or blue...this is in relation to the population. Politically, it is in the grips of some real asshole politicians that gerrymander the living shit out of the place and suppress the voters there every damn chance they get. What is rotten there are the elected officials and there are some true loons based in the state as well, including a gun worshiping faux Christian militia organization. Then you have the Steve Bannon freakshow people trying to interfere there and get total Marjorie Green style nuts elected to state and local position in a further effort to manipulate the vote and really what you have is a swamp of a state...where, in reality there are a lot of guns and open carry.

Stir in all the misinformation and scare tactics being fed to the population from foaming at the mouth Right wing propaganda organizations like FOX and their hideous and even worse siblings and well...you have a fairly dangerous and poisonous stew on the stove there. Basically, the same powder keg situation that is in place in other Red States that could tilt into some form of madness at any moment. The Texas Republican party has already done all it can to trample women's rights and voter's rights, so they are leading the way on those issues.

Ross is correct, that not all Texans support this lunacy and so if my jokes seem to generalize, well, I should be shamed for that.

I would say though, that nobody, not even elected Republicans in DC can figure out how the state continues to send a total pile of garbage named Ted Cruz back to the US Senate. Yes, they keep voting for this guy that you will catch on many occasions even his fellow Republicans yelling at him to shut the hell up. If you look up spineless, lying, two faced, political opportunist, you get a photo of Ted Cruz. Granted it is a group photo with a bunch of other horrid political opportunists from the Republican party but Ted, he is right out front because he is probably more special than even Lindsey Graham when it comes to having no spine.

Ross is right though, I should not throw around generalizations about Texans, as some of them would never vote for a Ted Cruz, Greg Abbott, or support something as vile as the Texas Republican party which has announced its platform and it is falling right in line with the Arizona Republican party platform. In other words, it is insane.

The good news is, if we can take a major political party losing their collective minds as good, is in a state like Texas their actions will end up turning the state blue because their positions have become so openly nuts. We shall see...I hope Ross is correct and his friends and neighbors would not support the wacko Right.
