Here is an article from The Atlantic that ponders this madness:

The Ohio rally was a dark moment. Sure, it would be funny too, except that all those people in the crowd are giving Trump a weird Nazi style salute that means they are Q supporters awaiting the "storm" which if you don't know what that is, it is the rounding up of Trump's enemies to be jailed and/or executed live on television. Yes, we have a former US president actually embracing these people, playing their theme song, and giving them the list of enemies he wants murdered.
Team Trump did lead up to this moment as he has been embracing the Q crowd on his Truth Social site, posting and reposting Q related garbage including him wearing a Q lapel pin. So, they specifically planned the Ohio event to be a Q event with that weird Q theme music and all that dumb crap layered into the normal nonsense Trump spews.
Hey, I know that we could write it off as "These are the people that are left that actually attend Trump's stupid rallies." but I think it is more than that. It is an act of desperation from a man that wants a show of violence immediately if he is indicted and it is looking every second more likely that he will be.
Trump and many Republicans are calling for violence if Trump ends up in serious legal peril and it really is looking like he will.
Today there are a pair of what could be strange and very bad moments for Trump's, apparently horribly inept and hostage legal team. One is a deadline from the 11th circuit court for them to respond to the Justice Department's request for a partial stay of the order to block them from using the classified documents they recovered from Mar-a-Lago in their investigation. This is very likely not to go Trump's way. Coming with the news that Eric Herschmann told Trump last year he would be in legal jeopardy if he did not return the documents he had stolen and that Herschmann will give grand jury testimony about this is horrible news for Trump. It proves beyond a doubt that Trump knew what he was doing hiding that he had the documents, obstructing their recovery, and that his activities were criminal. And of course he did them anyway.
The next legal event today is that the special master, Trump and his legal team requested and specifically chose, will hold his first hearing today with Trump's lawyers and the Justice Department. It will be open to the public and press. Here is the weirdness with that...
Trump and his lawyers requested this special master process and got their wish from the corrupt Judge Cannon in Florida. The reason that they requested this to happen is that Judge Cannon and Team Trump have a belief that the documents Trump had that the FBI recovered were not classified and belonged to Trump.
OK, so the idea here is that if Trump declassified the materials, he could then make a claim that is why he took them and he owns them. So, the very first thing Judge Cannon should have asked Trump and his lawyers is "Did you declassify these materials and if so are you making a claim that they belong to you?"
This would simply entail Trump swearing in an affidavit that he declassified the documents while he was president and so is making a claim he owns them and that is why he took them. Not difficult.
In an amazing turn, Judge Cannon never asked this question and Trump and his lawyers made no claim in her court that he declassified the documents which the Justice Department has stated are classified. It was the most obvious question to ask because if Trump is not making that claim, well, there is not really much purpose in asking for a special master to review the documents.
Basically, if Trump is not claiming he declassified the documents in question, what is the special master supposed to be doing? Why did Judge Cannon block the Justice Department from using the classified documents in their investigation if Trump made no claim in court that he declassified them?
Judge Cannon is either a moron or corrupt would be the answer to why she never asked what exactly Team Trump's claim on the documents is.
So, of course Judge Dearie, the special master Trump's team hand-picked, immediately asked this question right up front. He asked for declarations and affidavits showing what Trump's claim on the documents is, so he can do his job and review them based on what Trump is claiming.
So, Trump's lawyers reply to Dearie "We don't want to answer that question and don't feel it is fair that you asked it."
Ha, this must have confused the hell out of the judge because they requested him to be a special master to review the documents to determine if Trump has a valid claim on them and Trump's lawyers just told him they don't want to say if Trump has any claim on the documents whatsoever. That is flat out hilarious.
They literally said "We want you to review these to see if Trump owns them." the judge asked "Is Trump claiming he owns this stuff?" and they responded "We don't want to say."
WTF!!!
This should make for an interesting first conversation between Trump's lawyers and the special master.
So, in truth there is an explanation for what Trump's lawyers did. It is plainly obvious that Trump never declassified the documents he stole. Trump's lawyers know this and so they can't make any claim in court that he declassified them because that would mean they are committing a crime and then they would be charged and would no longer be his lawyers. Trump won't swear out an affidavit that he declassified them because that is a lie and he would end up charged with that.
All they were trying to do was stall for time which was why they asked for the special master, which Judge Dearie has recognized right off and likely is not going to be happy about.
So, likely two more bad court outcomes for Trump today and some 13 million lunatics he wants to go on a killing rampage in order to distract from how badly he and his lawyers have bungled his court cases.
America, what a country!
