You, sir, are my "tribe." I have a very good high school friend for whom some similar topics are absolute "no go" zones unless one is completely aligned with how she sees things. I actually really like her in normal conversational circumstances and appreciate her good qualities, but this is utterly ridiculous. She's closed to conversation and any degree of nuance and is therefore infinitely more "Fascist" than those she purports to oppose. A common "go to" for her is to lament points of view that she sees has having become "unacceptable." OK . . . sure, but what about context? What about particular mitigating circumstances that might at least make a discussion worthwhile? Her point of view, which is right out of the CRT playbook, is that race defines nearly everything and "systematic racism" is embedded everywhere. Bullshit (but it is there sometimes so those who might nay-say racism ought to also prepare for some pushback).
