I think most of the country is sick of Donald Trump. Even Tucker Carlson.
I thought it was interesting when Pat asked about strategy because I wondered what the hell the Republicans have for a strategy. Every chance that pops up for them to walk away from Trump, which a bunch of them claim they want to do, they don't take it.
It is like they, like Pat, don't see that they can't get to running against Democrats until they go through Trump first. That's what my woodchipper story was all about. The one thing that is a bit off in my woodchipper story is that I have some other candidate die first and DeSantis comments on that. In truth, Republicans, including Rupert Murdoch, are trying to push Ron through the woodchipper first. So, he is going to be the first guy shredded. Trump, outside of law enforcement people whom he hates, has painted a giant bullseye on Mr. DeSantis and has made it his number one goal to destroy him. This has exposed Ron as a guy that does not look or sound like he can stand up to Trump. Trump is making it a priority to take him out first. In fact he is just trying to discourage Ron from running at all. He is already accusing DeSantis of hiding affairs with underage girls and a man. He has not even begun to unleash on him yet.
If Trump slaughters DeSantis right at the start, who is left to run against Trump in the primary? It is Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Pompeo, and probably Chris Christy. In other words, the kind of clown show candidates that Trump will destroy without even getting out of bed. These idiots can't be serious. It's like putting your nana in the ring with Mike Tyson in his prime. Trump will destroy them, so they must either be too stupid to see this or they just enjoy getting brutalized. Trump is more crazed now than he has ever been. He intends to make a meal of these dipshits and he will.
The only hope for Republicans right now is that Trump does get convicted of something or he drops dead. He won't leave the race in any other way. So, they better hope that New York, Georgia, or the feds get it right.
Trump may be the weakest and most wounded candidate in history. He now only appeals to the nutters that are his fans. Independents have abandoned him and the Democrats that voted for him in 2016 long ago gave up on him.
Now, there are a bunch of lunatic Republicans in DC and around the country that seem intent on going down with the Trump ship and they are going to try to do all they can to distract their followers from Trump's crimes but that does not really matter. The issue is, Trump has no appeal to anybody but the hardcore MAGA goons now and you can't win an election with just those wackos.
Guys like DeSantis are in a total crap position. He has to pretend to be Trump, while not criticizing Trump, while finding a way to draw a difference between him and Trump. He wants to bring up all of Trump's criminal activity but he can't because that angers the Trump fans. He wants to say "Hey, the difference between me and Trump is he is under indictment!" but again, the Trump loons would see that as a betrayal and he would go on their shit list.
The Republicans in cases like this are walking a razor thin wire where they can't afford to lose a single vote...so their candidates are in the horrid position of having to appeal to the nuts but at the same time, expose why Trump is no good for their party.
Worst position I have ever seen for a major political party. Their "solution" is to try to invent investigations into the Biden family. I guess these morons think if they are investigating Biden, all of Trump's crimes will just no longer matter. People will call it a wash. Problem is, Trump's crimes are in the court systems and they, as hard as they are looking, have not found a Biden crime yet and so there is nothing to prosecute.
This is all they have to offer their voters. Fake investigations and a super pissed off and out of his mind Donald Trump.
Violence and criminal activity have become their way forward. I think most of this country does not want to see this show.
