Would really like to learn more about how you arrived at this belief. I hope it is true.
Some days I wonder if people around my age are going to be the last generation that has had the wonderful experience of following a large number of musicians for decades. It is hard for me to imagine that the same number of musicians in current times are going to be as productive as our current crop of elder statespeople musicians over a long period of time.
I sort of envision the next big thing in music will be for music to be transmitted/inputted to the brain in a way that directly stimulates different parts of the brain at the same time.
Maybe that is the next big technology jump - that someday we will be able to self-stimulate the brain in ways that allow a person to "dial" in personal adjustments for the maximum amount of pleasure.
