You're welcome Lee. Really no effort involved in doing a google search. I thought SRB's post was interesting and thought it may further the discussion to post a little history. I enjoy this sort of stuff and it's good to see interesting posts...SRB is a great contributor to this site and I think we need that.
As to the sparring...I was working and up late and it was probably in retrospect not a good idea...but it was a diversion for my head at the time. It really went nowhere. In all honesty I think Gene's plan of "IGNORE" was probably best. That's the thing about message boards you can read what you want and ignore the stuff you have no interest in.
I think one interesting thing to watch, from this Nazi thing, is what sort of symbolism and language is used by our government through these rather confusing times. I think that they have been choosing their words quite carefully and with specific intent. There is much that can be revealed in how an idea is presented and what words are used to detail it. Now before any right wingers say I'm calling the Republicans Nazi's I'm not...just throwing out a topic to be tossed around.
Chomsky is a language guy and I think that's what makes his take on things interesting...his ability to breakdown propaganda, read between the lines. Something that seems to have become more of a factor in these times.
