Yes, this is what I am talking about. As far as I understand, this would not just be a Russian operation, but as the woman says, they are quite good at it. 

So, I don't think the MAGA mob, the plain old folks, voters, know who they serve. They are just a blunt instrument. As is Trump. I don't want to come across as a conspiracy nut, but once you see it, it can't be unseen. 

The goldmine is studded with some seriously nutty and nonsensical shit. Which is plain to some of us, not as plain to others. It all serves a certain purpose, which primarily is chaos. It also serves, and I think the NYT video touches on this, to make people, even those of us that can see through the disinformation, feel somewhat hopeless. Which frankly, I don't want to feel and I believe others here do not want to feel that either. 

So, particularly on the Right, there is a huge movement to migrate voters away from real journalists and real news media to internet news and sources. You will be told over and over that journalism is dead, Tucker repeats it over and over and over that the media is not telling you the truth. 

This is to send you to the internet, the "goldmine" studded with the wacko shiny stuff they want you to find. People go there. The woman I went to high school with that is into all the crazy Q stuff, she is constantly citing internet sources for her beliefs. I've read a bunch of them, to try to understand what she is thinking, but to me, I read them and they seem plainly to be influence operations, active measures, put in place by foreign bad actors to drive chaos. 

Chaos drivers. She can't see it. She can't get out of the loop. 

I agree, it is done to the Left as well but one of the big impacts it has is what it does to normal media, the places where you could get real news. They get stuck in a loop of reacting to it and so because they are doing stories reacting to, Tucker or Trump or any of the wackos spewing gibberish, it essentially just creates a larger loop we get sucked into and you can't get away from it. This, I believe, adds to the feeling of hopelessness, that we can't get out and that we can't trust the other side. 

Now, the story about how aids was supposedly created by the US as an experiment, well, the method they show, planting the story in a paper, then other media citing that article to give a sense of validity and to blow it up...Murdoch's empire has been using this method for decades. 

Stories are planted in a paper, then quoted on Right Wing media shows, then on FOX news. It's the FOX media empire using the active measures playbook, exactly. This is not an accident. FOX, specifically, seems to be working directly for the Kremlin and trained by them. Carlson was, by all accounts, giving it to the viewers on FOX directly from a Kremlin script. Which was why they kept playing Tucker on Russian TV and Russian media. 

However, then you look at what happened with Kevin McCarthy. You can think a couple of things on this but the one that makes the most sense is, McCarthy is also compromised. He gave Carlson thousands of hours of video footage, evidence, from January 6th, specifically so Tucker could create and promote a piece of propaganda to create confusion, doubt and cover for the Republican politicians involved, among his audience. 

You could say, well McCarthy is a fool and just made a foolish move, but far more likely McCarthy did what he did because he is as dirty and compromised as Carlson. Do the Russians and others have kompromat on Kevin. They likely do, he is a guy that supposedly can't keep his dick in his pants and pretty much everybody knows it so, surely there is plenty out there that McCarthy does now want to see coming out. Makes him a perfect guy to be Speaker because he is so easily bullied and controlled. Which is exactly what is happening to him right out in the open. I think when Abby Grossberg left Maria Bartiromo's show to go work for Tucker, the first thing they asked her was about McCarthy banging Bartiromo. 

One thing that Tucker and Trump have in common is they both love to collect kompromat, dirt, on people because that can be useful. 

In reality we had a big couple weeks for these foreign influencers going down. Carlson, Buzzfeed, Nate Silver all crashing at once. Don Lemon too, who is an odd character but unlike those others I just mentioned, I have not heard stories about what he may be into. I guess what I am hoping here is as these people go down, does it mean that they are getting caught so we are making headway against this crap. 

The NYT's piece and the woman in it rightly says you never have complete victory, but you do as I said, have to take your wins. Are we getting some right now? It looks like we are.
