I'm going to stick with it and see how it goes. I like the people involved and maybe it gets a little less cartoonish as we get deeper in.
Funny note, so we see a meeting in episode one that includes Mark Felt, who would later reveal himself as Woodward's Deep Throat. In the meeting Liddy and Hunt say stupid things and Felt regards them and speaks to them as if they are idiots for the most part. In the movie All the President's Men, Deep Thorat (Felt) says the line to Woodward in the parking garage that "these are not bright guys" revealing to Woodward he thinks the people behind the Watergate scandal are kind of idiots. I always liked that line but really, I can only imagine that if Felt were alive now to see the absolute car crash of stupidity the Republican party has become, words would likely fail him to describe this bunch of unholy morons.
