Here's a couple more, I just remembered...
1. Doc AND Merle Watson , Yellow Door Coffehouse, Montreal (little basement room, a place so small, you gotta go outside just to change your mind). circa 1971-2
2. Bill Withers and the 9th street band (now this was a TRUE rarety, 'cause he hardly played live in concert). It was at Place des Arts, and he opened for someone..don't remember who, but it might have been Bruce Cockburn. again early 70's.
3. Bruce Cockburn (SOLO). Yep, just in his jeans, workman's boots(in vogue at the time), and with a six string acoustic guitar ..NO BAND, no electric (it antedated any electric guitar he ever played). I think it was around the time of High Winds, White Sky...so that would be 1971. Place des Arts again.
4. And of course Lightfoot, including meeting him on a couple of occasions (very interesting). These were the days when he played only with the Trio; usually Red Shea, and Rick Haynes, later Red retired a/o moved on, and was replaced by Terry Clements. I still remember this amazing, and masterful performance he did around the time Sit Down Young Stranger came out (the original title of the album If You Could Read my Mind). He included 2 great tunes he ONLY did in concert..NEVER released on CD or album: one called "Divorce American Style", and another called "Waitin' for the Doomsday to come ..or something like that.
