About the time DBIS began, I met Tory from Oklahoma City on a message board related to my beloved Aussie band, Weddings Parties Anything. We had to bond as there were but a handful of WPA followers here in the states. Over the decades, Tory and I have emailed many times and spoken on the phone as well, but we haven't met.
Tory pointed me in the direction of The Bottle Rockets, Alejandro Escovedo, and surely a few other bands that I would have overlooked. He had a band that never really went anywhere, Judy Judy Judy, named after Goober's Cary Grant imitation as heard on the old The Andy Griffith show. He then had a lot of fun with another band, The Smouldering Ashes. It too didn't raise a pulse though it may have had a tiny following in some micro-nation in Europe, can't recall.
Anyway, Tory relocated a decade or so to South Korea and I think he's been teaching English, all the while having fun creating pretty weird music. Here's his latest, and if you care to comment, I'll send them along.

And again, this is pretty bizarre stuff, not my usual toe-tapping fare, but hey, he's a friend.
