Aw jeez It's fckn hard --- not difficult. HArd ..not talking about this man's written word. Imagine a medium. No. Literally ANy fckn medium. Go ahead. Imagine ..and you'll be on track.
Listen I hope we, as a relative species, evolve somehow enough to reach a nexus ..or collective criterion ..where those who produce and distribute the various print & film mediums (& David, himself, certainly) come to (realize) determine that David Baerwald's storytelling nEEds be made invariably public. Now. As in presently. (Well, perhaps we evolve a click more on the fulcrum first? ((sigh)))
I'm aware that books are a dying medium. But people still read and we seek the gamut of prose and visual and dialogue mediums in a nouveau rice-cooker kind of melanomic madness ongoing. (Thanks a fckn lot Jobs & Wozniak.) And a good godforsaken lot of it can't even won't even couldn't possibly ever even slightly suffice. Some does. Some certainly does. Cheers to that too!
But there's something more. A fresh coat of paint. In the can.
Call it uh pop, if you must. Or creative content, beancounters. Or artisan craftsmanship ongoing; historical artifacts to be. Once upon a time this kind of storytelling came to be called classics. Now what: commodified content? But damn if it isn't relevant. Trust me --- at least a little. 'Cos a little is all I'm bringing to the table. And it's a hopeful little. But HOPe most certainly. I wanna flip through print pages while seeing it brought to life on ANy size screen in the good company of affable strangers and kindred humans being. In a better world of our collective imagination.
((sigh)) "We" keep repeating major mistakes (haplessly
ignoring centuries of solid philosophy ongoing -- only to please a very sellect mental illness) instead of opening up solid collective avenues of insight ..& hindsight ..& wonder & (consequential & rewarding) truth. Arguing incessantly over moot broken concepts of constructs while maniacs force-feed almost all of US sorrow by the trillions [in devalued $s & common sense]. We're WOrth better stories. There's a prestigious storyteller (quasi-)here (quasi-)among us!
Let this ramble stand as a petition. I, for one, sign.
