A sobering read David. And it creates a very powerful context for politicians to be all in in their desire to make it unrepeatable. Do you think there is an overcompensation for this relentless approach  on the part of leaders like Netanyahu? I don’t know much about the religion of Judaism or indeed Islam, but are there any circuit breakers in there to make him stop and think about where the line is? Over here the general feeling is now shifting away from understanding Israel’s plight and trauma towards seeing it as the villain. That makes me worry about prejudices being perpetuated. There are marches everywhere now in support of Palestine. It makes me feel very uncomfortable.

It doesn’t make sense to ignore the feeling that is growing of shock and horror especially when it is presented in a certain way persistently now. Israel isn’t winning the battle of hearts and minds. It needs to.
