I've followed Democratic politics for a long time and this goes back to the 80s and Biden's first run for the presidency, and beyond then, so I have watched Biden over all these years. While I am familiar with his stuttering issues, I can still see the change over the years; sadly, it is obvious.

And like I prefaced my comment, it really disgusts me with all this focus on Biden's age. To me it IS disrespectful, and this is part of why it is so hard for me to watch Biden, along with a memory of his past performances.  Still, while watching a bit of CNN today, guess what the panel is talking about right now? Yes, Biden's age.  Again.

To me, Biden's age and the things that accompany age, are a media-driven focal point more than anything else, and even worse, I do not believe the Democrats, advisers, and pols around Biden have dealt with this as effectively as they could be.

I think one thing that could deal with part of this would be to encourage those appearing on the punditry shows to passionately take the fight to these moderators and firmly point out that if Biden is so inept and full of dementia, then how does he keep winning politically?  They also need to express outrage out of the disrespectful reporting over age and the like (some years ago, The Nation journalist Eric Alterman wrote a good book called "What Liberal Media?" and in it, he points out how conservatives are so good at applying the tactic of "working the ref" and this is something Democrats are pretty poor at - conservatives have become so good at "working the refs" that it seems the media bends over backward to avoid the perception of the "left-lean" of mass media, when in reality, the existence of a "liberal media" really is a myth).
