yeah well I'm glad you got there before me! 😬

Let me share a little anecdote here. 2 weeks ago myself and 'er indoors' and our eldest were heading off to a gig in Gloucester...(Shire not Massachusetts). I was very excited as it was a band I hadn't seen in a long long time and we were about to set off and I put on Welcome to the New Folk Underground...really loud...really fucking loud...and Ursula was singing along to Hellbound Train (in harmony) and said...isn't that David from the Dan fan page...thing...I said yeah. She said 'he's amazing'...I said you 'don't know the half of it...I said 'we were bantering earlier'...she said wow he seems so accessible. I thought about it and felt so lucky.

I explained that we're a bunch of people thanks to Dan (apart from green man...Pat...Dale...Marc...who are all toads) here that are so privileged to have a connection with one of our heroes and none of us is even the slightest bit inclined to exploit this absurd privilege we have to be able to talk honestly with someone who's music changed our worlds so profoundly.

David try and be a good old chap here and appreciate that you bring something to our worlds that money can't buy. Nor sex. Nor the Shire's finest ale.  

Just from me to you...heartfelt thanks for not making me look stupider than I am...and don't rescue me from that feeling.
