Wish I didn't live on the other side of the world. Would love to meet you both.
Thanks for your kind words, EEE. I always feel like a bit of a lightweight fraud being here, as my life differs from so many of the other regular posters. I am not particularly well read, nor am I interested in politics. My world revolves around my family, farm and museum.
Thanks also for your compliment about Alyssa's writing. She will be rapt. She is currently residing in a mother and baby unit at the maternity hospital with her five week old daughter, Vienna (named after the Billy Joel song that she relates to so much).
I too loved the Burn Unit period. I still enjoy listening to many of the compilations, as do the girls. We used to play them in the car on the way to and from school. If I had to pick a favourite, it would be Steven's from South Africa - an introduction to a whole world of music I'd never encountered before.
I haven't moved on from CDs yet. We do have an iPod (which John calls his 'music machine') which is also outdated technology. We're a bit slow here in the country.
We did move into the 21st century this week though by swapping our internet to Starlink. What a revelation! My download speed has gone from 7 (yes, you read right) to 270! The rotters have been charging us $90 a month for that privilege. Downside to this is that I'll probably win more things on eBay as I won't experience the circle of doom in the last few seconds. May have to extend the museum, again.
I look forwward to reading more non-political posts about music and movies and will chime in occasionally if I think I can offer something. Thanks again.
