You know, folks, in my years of watching these political conventions, I had yet to see a DNC convention like the one going on right now.
This must be similar to how Reaganites felt when feeling a certain win over Carter was inevitable, but more so during the Reagan V. Mondale campaign.
To be honest, I cringed when I first learned Chicago was going to be the host city - my thoughts were why even entertain the possibility of turmoil, but even that decision has turned out to be a good one (so far).
I didn't watch the first two nights but started on night three. Walz was remarkable, as was his son. In watching and knowing nothing about the the Walz family, I was wondering if the son had a disability and later in the evening learned he does have a non-verbal learning disability, but wow. What uplifting moments (sadly, first thing this morning I saw a nasty meme by the right - took them less than a day to make fun of the son).
Still, though, if things like this continue forward, November is going to be a very good month (I just hope the Dems avoid words like "landside").
