I previously shared when first hearing Welcome to the Boomtown on the radio, I absolutely hated it but after seeing the gritty urban video while living in a strange city, that was it.  It spoke to me so loudly.

Next up is World Party.  Man, how I hated hearing Private Revolution on the radio.  It drove me nuts how much it irritated me.  Then, I became aware of the song Ship of Fools and started liking that.  Then, All Came True hit my ears and World Party joined the favorable list.

Now, it's not that I didn't enjoy some of Bob Seger's stuff, but as I've aged, man, he is one of the most underrated rock songwriters around.  His lyrics are so beautiful and profound and oftentimes, simple.  What really got me started was back in 1990 when I was standing somewhere in O'Hare airport getting ready to be flown down to Ft. Jackson, SC for army basic training, and Like a Rock came up on my mix tape and right there, all alone I heard and listened to those lyrics and that was it.
