Fucks left to give. Yesterday the “grief” that I and the other Liberal Women I know in Paulding County, around Georgia, and around the country have begun to enter the anger stage. I realized when I, alone in my car yesterday starter screaming, not yelling or talking back to the Palestinian Americans being interviewed in Michigan talking about how they needed to teach the democrats a lesson so they voted for trump. Well, congratulations because when he says he’ll end that war first thing in 48 hours or something, he doesn’t mean he’ll save the Gazans while doing it. He means he’ll run over all on the Fazans on his way to bulldozing everything to the water’s edge. Yeah, I realized they could t really hear me screaming. Later last night I realized I needed to text that last MAGA friend and tell her I had zero fucks to give and despite the fact I’ve tried several times to tell her why trump was a bad choice for her and her family, like her husband is from Cuba so not natural born Latino. I thought she saw the true him after 1/6 but I guess she lost that trump.
Anyway, it is hard especially in the land of MAGA & MTG. On 1/6/24 I set up a Zoom meeting so our Liberal Women of Paulding private fb group could just vent, be in a space with people that felt the same way they did. Next week we’re meeting to come up for next steps forward for people depending on how involved they’ve been in things before. So it might be things like going to City , School board, or County Commission Meetings, or knowing how to county state and fed reps or serving on election board.
I was also contacted by a community organizer who wants to organize a community meeting for people to share their feelings about what went wrong in a no judgement zone or at least in a sphere they will be listened to. Many are still afraid to openly identify as democrats in their own community so we want to work to get them more comfortable with that.
I do have some exciting number from Paulding but I’ll have to share those tonight.
