I have told many people the scene between Sheriff Bell and Cousin Ellis is one of the most powerful five-minute scenes around and a scene that is SO LIFE it is impossible not to see that - sadly, though, the comment about how having the notion of stopping or what is coming is "vanity" may take many to mature before fully understanding that scene.
Lately, I have been watching a number of YouTube videos on how to find all the joy one can find in life, including contentment and those have been helpful.
Though, like Reg commented, I am finding joy and pleasure and comfort can be found in so many places and oftentimes, at times and places we overlook and all we have to do is open our eyes more.
For example, for a month our youngest daughter was hungering for steak, so we planned to have steak on Xmas Eve and did. Her excitement was pure joy for me and something I will never forget.
And as Jimmy Carter's former advisor once said how any day above ground is a good day.......
