When it comes to my preferred entertainment, mostly I like darker shows and for the past few year, darker international programming. 

So, on a lark, we started watching this show Elsbeth on Paramount+ and I have to admit, shows like this generally aren't my favorite, but this show is just a great cute, quirky and wacky show with plenty of surprises and chuckles.

It stars the quirky Carrie Preston (well known as a loopy barmaid from HBO's vampire show True Blood), and she is a good delight to watch.  She plays a wildly successful defense attorney who has been tasked with observing a large police department under a consent decree.  The show also has plenty of celebrity guest appearances in all sorts of roles, but oftentimes as the killer.

It's not highbrow and many are comparing the show to Columbo or Monk (I never watched either of those shows), so if you are looking for a show to just get lost in, give this one a try.
