I have never downloaded music from the Net before and was wondering, does anyone have any how much music on the Net comes from out of print cd's or hard to find cds?

It seems this is one area that the recording industry doesn't address. For example, over the past two years I've had a heck of time locating certain cds and the only way I've been able to do it is from Ebay. And then some I've sought after have never even been printed to cd (i.e. the soundtrack to Bronco Billy).

One other aspect never discussed is how often some people download a song from a particular album and then go buy the entire album. Or, how many downloaders lack the money to buy much music.

I'm not making excuses, because some people just abuse systems no matter what, but hell, I'd love to have a cd with Paul Williams' "Where Do I go From Here" from the movie "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot", but that song can't be found on a cd anywhere.
