Hey Keith,
Sorry you did'nt like Robbie Baier. It was my intention to make some suggestions for music people may not or may never hear about. I thought there were some good songs on the record...I think as a whole you are correct it's not spectacular...but I think that he shows some promise. Plus for those that check him out now they can say they listened to him way back when if he ever gets the chance to make a career of this music thing. As for female vocalists, there seems to be a boatload of them out there right now. I really think the 90's was the decade for female vocalists. Maybe that's because record companies chase trends until they have milked every last dollar out them. I know there have always been a wealth of female singers but over the last ten years the girls are really getting some attention. Hey, and it's well deserved. I think if we started to list female singers we'd have about 100 in no time and there's new ones popping up every day. Right now, I really like Aimee Mann's stuff from "Magnolia" but she's not new she's been around for a long time. The thing about music today, and David could probably speak with more authority on this than I can, is the shelf life for the artists putting out records today is so short. It's one album...one hit song...you're done...move on to the next band...or singer. It seems that record companies only want you for that one record then they just want the next hot young thing. To tell you the truth I really can't discern the difference between Matchbox Twenty and Third Eye Blind, as far as I know they are the same band. One had a hit song (and I really don't know which band came first) then the record company said "Shit...We need more bands that sound like that!". The next thing you know there's 15 bands with records out that all sound the same. I'll end this rant here but to tell you the truth I have some questions for David about this. Sorry for the ramble, Reg
