Hi John,
I really did'nt mean to downgrade Matchbox 20 or Third Eye Blind with my comments. That just happened to be the first example that popped into my head. I also did not mean to imply that anything that's popular is no good. Really the point I was trying to make is that it seems to me that the decision makers at record companies are like dogs that chase their tails. Once they notice something they run around in circles chasing after it. Pretty much it's a stupid, yet sometimes amusing, little exorcise that even after they've caught it seems to continue ad nauseum. I actually have heard Matchbox 20's first record. A friend of mine that I occasionally record music with played it for me back when it first came out. I really don't remember any of the songs from it so it would not be fair of me to comment on it specifically. I can tell you I've heard the new single "Bent" and didn't like it. I'm not saying it's no good...just that I don't like it. I'd say that's why they make chocolate and vanilla. Thanks for your response.
Take care,
Reg
