Quite simply it feels and sounds like well-rendered expression of real feelings, without ego, and with equal measures of musical inventiveness, awareness, intellect, and soul. The singer gives himself completely over to the music,
and the music rewards his trust with a kind of alienated passion that makes his wordlessness understandable and to me, profound. I just think it's a magnificent display of courage and sweetness and faith and sadness and artistry. In other words I think it's just plain bloody good, and well worth the twenty bucks. If you hate it, I'll buy your copy and give it to a friend. How's that?
